What are the requirements to become a THW doula?

Ensure that you fill out the Application Checklist (Spanish) completely and have the following documents ready for your application:

  • A clear copy of a government issued ID
  • Certificates of attendance and completion for the following:
    • 28 hours (or more) of in-person education offered by an OHA-approved training program, including any combination of childbirth education and birth doula training.
    • 6 hours (or more) of cultural competency training
    • 1 hour (or more) of interprofessional collaboration training
    • 1 hour (or more) of HIPAA compliance training
    • 4 hours (or more) of trauma-informed care training
    • An OHA-approved oral health training
    • CPR certification for adults and infants/children
    • Attended three births as a doula
    • 3 postpartum visits
  • A complete community resource list for the counties you serve or you can use CDP community resource list
